Yesterday I invited my senior management team and a few other managers from across the business to a "management training" day.

It's peak season, so taking a day out for us is "a lot" right now. But I said it was compulsory unless a good reason and we made it happen even though the idea of no emails for a whole day in the month of September gave me serious anxiety.

I didn't tell the team what kind of "management training" it was.

Step forward RoundTable Global and their "SHINE Day Training", which in their own words is designed to 'take you on a journey like never before' and WOW that it did.

It's really hard to describe why the day was so powerful. I'm sure as the days go on i'll be able to articulate more - or maybe not and it doesn't even matter! But for the purposes of here, I want to try and share why it was so amazing.

We spend most of our lives at work together. You think you know each other. But when you shine a light on things from a different perspective and it brings out vulnerability and searing honestly about all areas of life, it's so so powerful.

We cried, we laughed and all of us came out a different version of us than we started.

One of my team had begged me to leave at lunchtime to finish a presentation - she didn't leave.

I'm walking into the office and back to my family with a whole new perspective and it's very very welcome.
